The Posterous and Wordpress.com blogging services both offer tools for importing your Vox blog to their service.
Posterous
Posterous supports importing your Vox blog into a new or existing blog on Posterous. However, there are apparent limitations you should be aware of:
- Posterous only imports posts that are visible to anyone. The service will not import private posts.
- Posterous will only import images that are displayed in the post. So if your post contains thumbnails of images, Posterous will import and display the thumbnail of the image, but not the full-size of the image.
Posterous may be a good choice for you if most of your posts on Vox were viewable to anyone and contained full-size images in the body of the post. Learn more about importing your Vox blog into Posterous.
Wordpress.com
Wordpress.com supports importing your Vox blog, including posts, comments and embedded photos. During the import process Wordpress will mark any private posts on Vox as private on Wordpress.com. There are apparent limitations you should be aware of:
- In our testing, any posts with embedded photos that have been marked as private were not imported into Wordpress. Posts with embedded photos that are marked public were successfully imported.
- In our testing, videos were not successfully imported.
Wordpress.com may be a good choice for you if your Vox blog contains mostly public posts, or private posts with photos that are marked as viewable by anyone in Vox. Learn more about Wordpress.com's import feature.
